Robbie was pleased to be a part of the first Grocerant to be held by Stagnito in Chicago next week.  

Grocerant is focused on retail prepared foods defined as meals where no preparation is needed and consumers will consume the food within a few hours. Hot and cold prepared foods has driven food service growth in the grocery, while taking away sales from "traditional" foodservice outlets such as restaurants.  

Robbie showcased advancements in packaging for the grab-n-go consumers as well as those wanting to pick up a meal and "dine-in" at home. We also shared our white paper called " Foodservice Playbook" focusing on research from the IFMA and other various prominent research firms geared towards helping retailers build their foodservice market.  Our first order of business will be to explore the unmet needs of the retailer and strategize how together we can enhance the customer experience and build a strong foodservice culture.

Survey of 1,500 U.S. consumers conducted in July 2014 revealed more than half of diners reported eating prepared foods in the grocery store dining area and 45% have eaten in convenience store dining space in the last year.  73% stated taking prepared foods home from a grocery store.
